Hotel Lima Marbella
****
Brand new, adults only hotel. 2 mins walk from the beach and 2 mins walk from the Old Town. They can block rooms out for us with discount for the wedding guests and they can ring up or email to book and pay for their own room. They only have 4 rooms left for now until this big group confirms. They serve food and drinks in the restaurant until 11pm. Drinks on the roof are served 1pm-1am. 2 min walk to the beach.
Hapimag Marbella
****
Apartments right on the beach; some have sea views and some don’t so make sure to ask for a “front sea view” when booking. It has a gorgeous outdoor bar/ restaurant and pool area with lots of sunbeds overlooking the beach. It is suitable for all ages as it has a kids club & play area, spa, hairdressers, gym inside. It is a 10 minute walk along the prom (which is completely flat and a lovely walk) to the port.
Senator Marbella Spa Hotel
****
This is a less than 5 minute walk from the beach and a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. The rooms are clean & spacious with fridges, safes, wardrobes, big bathrooms and balconies with mountain or village views. There is a gym and spa underneath for guests. They have a gorgeous rooftop area with a pool, 2 jacuzzis, loads of beds in the sun and a bar with stunning views across Marbella and the sea.
Aparthotel Monarque Sultán
****
These are apartments rather than hotel rooms so they are bigger and have more in them. They have big bathrooms, seperate bedroom and a kitchen. They also have a living room area with a pull out couchbed if required and large balconies. There is a pool but it is shaded with trees and they also have a spa underneath for guests and a big restaurant/ bar area. It is a 2 min walk from the beach and 15 min stroll along the prom (which is completely flat and a lovely walk) to the port.
Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá
*****
Big hotel complex right on the beach with seaview rooms and mountain view rooms. Request which view you want when booking. It has 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor heated pool with lots of sunbeds and cabanas overlooking the beach. It also features multiple restaurants & bars aswell as spa facilities and games room. Suitable for all ages. It is a 15 minute walk along the prom (which is completely flat and a lovely walk) to the port.
Aparthotel Puerto Azul
***
There are 2 types of rooms; apartments and studios. The apartments have little living room areas and that’s the only difference, but all the front sea view rooms are apartments. The studios only have side sea views. They have 5 floors and there are 2 rooms on each floor with front sea view (10 in total). They are called “apartamentos vistas frontales”. Tiny pool in the shade with only 8 beds, but it is literally right on the beach so you can sunbathe there instead as they provide you with hotel towels for the sunbeds on the beach. The bar/restaurant below looks nice too. It is a 10 minute walk along the prom (which is completely flat and a lovely walk) to the port.
Hotel San Cristobal
***
Recently refurbished and located right in the heart of the Old Town. Rooms are modern, clean & spacious with a big walk in shower. Make sure to request a “premier room” which are the larger rooms and they all located on 2nd floor. You could definitely fit more than 2 people in these rooms. It has a bar & restaurant downstairs which is open til late. But there is no pool! Good value for money and more suitable for people who are only staying a few days.
Aparthotel Princesa Playa
***
Good location right by the beach but the balconies only have side sea views (not front sea views). Rooms are quite dated, but clean. Serves breakfast and lunch but doesn’t serve food/drink after 3:30pm. Tiny pool on the rooftop with only a few beds round it. Cheaper end of the scale and would recommend for people who are only doing a few days.
Hotel Monarque el Rodeo
***
Cheaper end of the scale as the rooms are dated, but they have the basics like air con, safe, balcony etc. It has a a rooftop pool with loads of beds in the sun, where you can take your own drinks and own music. The restaurant is like an old person’s buffet and the bar is tiny but it’s open til midnight. Taxi rank right outside. There are rooms for 4 people that are a bit bigger if required.
